Handmade by experienced rug makers, the bespoke designs are created to suit any size and shape of room, and are an obvious choice to ease and compliment hard floors. There is a comprehensive range of borders and piping to choose from, allowing you to add interest to your rug, whether you go down the tonal route or add contrast with colour and pattern.

What we know today as Ziegler rugs were originally known as ‘ Ardebil Carpets.’ The name was gained when the Persian Shah Ismail's son, Shah Tahmasp, presented two rugs to the Ardebil Mosque where his ancestors where buried.

For more than three centuries, the carpets lay on the floor of the mosque, trodden daily by the unshod feet of the worshipers. In the 1880s the authorities of the mosque sold the two rugs to the Ziegler Brothers of Manchester.
